Non-linear dynamics of spike generation in neurons and its implications for neural activity.

Addictive drugs act significantly through affecting motivational signalling in the dopaminergic circuits. Thruogh their pharmacological action these substances usurp normal signalling of rewards and punishments and render addicts' decision processes biased toward drug seeking and taking. In this lecture I will review prevalent computational models of drug action and their effects on decision making. The models come form neuronal dynamics, control theory and reinforcement learning frameworks.
